Cocaine Effects without Cocaine: Increasing Happiness with Self-Regulation Therapy in a Single Session

چکیده
The psychological reproduction of cocaine’s ability to increase happiness was studied. first part this study consisted building and validating an instrument measure the stable transient aspects via 10-item Happiness Trait–State Scale (10 HTSS) in a sample volunteers (N = 128). In second part, Self-Regulation Therapy (SRT, procedure based on suggestion classic conditioning) applied all participants their relaxation during single session. session slightly increased happiness. A subgroup who were cocaine users 33) took reproduce stimulant euphoric effects. That “mental” simulate effects cocaine. For both conditions, filled 10 HTSS at beginning end compare scores prove if state increased. condition, markedly increased, especially comparison session, for total group group. Although achieved similar previous studies with more continuous training monitoring suggest that improvement emotions can be durable long term.

Silent Cocaine Poisoning
Background: Cocaine poisoning is known for causing severe clinical effects such as tachycardia, hypertension, agitation and confusion. Absence of clinical manifestations in cocaine poisoning is unusual. Case report: A 26-year old man, known to be a cocaine addict, declared that he was forced by cocaine dealers to swallow many tablets of cocaine, six hours prior to admission to emergency departm...
متن کاملThe expanding effects of cocaine: studies in a nonhuman primate model of cocaine self-administration.
Although neuroimaging investigations in human cocaine abusers have provided important insights into the brain changes that accompany drug use, the interpretation of reports in human abusers can be very difficult. Studies in nonhuman primates provide a way to systematically evaluate the structural and functional adaptations engendered by cocaine self-administration without the confounds of human...
متن کاملEffects of dose and session duration on cocaine self-administration in rats.
Previous studies showed that an extended 6-h session duration produced an increasing rate of cocaine self-administration in rats. The present study further investigated the effect of dose and session duration on cocaine self-administration. Eight groups of rats (4 doses x 2 session durations) self-administered one of four cocaine doses (0.25, 0.5, 1, and 2 mg/kg/injection) in either 1- or 6-h s...
متن کاملCocaine esterase prevents cocaine-induced toxicity and the ongoing intravenous self-administration of cocaine in rats.
Cocaine esterase (CocE) is a naturally occurring bacterial enzyme, is a very efficient protein catalyst for the hydrolysis of cocaine, and has previously been shown to protect rodents from the lethal effects of cocaine. The current studies were aimed at evaluating the capacity of a longer acting mutant form (CocE T172R/G173Q; DM CocE) of CocE to protect against the lethal effects of cocaine, an...
متن کاملA novel label-free cocaine assay based on aptamer-wrapped single-walled carbon nanotubes
Objective(s): This paper describes a selective and sensitive biosensor based on the dissolution and aggregation of aptamer wrapped single-walled carbon nanotubes. We report on the direct detection of aptamer–cocaine interactions, namely between a DNA aptamer and cocaine molecules based on near-infrared absorption at λ807. Materials and Methods: First a DNA aptamer recognizing cocaine was non-co...
